Hyderabad receives heavy rainfall, ending heatwave

Hyderabad experienced intense thunderstorms from Friday night into Saturday morning. This weather brought a much-needed break from a prolonged heatwave affecting the city. The University of Hyderabad recorded 54.5 mm of rainfall, while Allapur and Vivekananda Nagar in Kukatpally received a remarkable 508 mm. Other areas also saw significant rainfall, including Madhapur with 48.8 mm, Khairatabad at 48.5 mm, and Gachibowli with 45.8 mm. Several neighborhoods, like Banjara Hills and Miyapur, also experienced hail storms along with heavy rain. The thunderstorm conditions typically lasted 30 to 40 minutes in most regions before they began to weaken.
