The Hyderabad Traffic Police took strict action against drunk driving, booking 1,099 cases from March 15 to March 21. This campaign aimed to improve road safety and reduce reckless driving in the city. Most of the offenders were two-wheeler riders, making up 961 of the cases. Three-wheeler drivers had 39 cases against them, while 96 four-wheeler drivers and three heavy-vehicle drivers were also caught driving under the influence. Young adults were the most frequent violators. The age group of 21-30 had the highest number of cases, with 470 reported. The 31-40 age group followed with 331 cases. Notably, a minor under the age of 18 was also found driving while intoxicated. Among those offenders, 1,098 were men and only one was a woman. Police reported varying blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels. There were 477 cases with BAC levels between 51-100, and 226 cases between 30-50. Some individuals showed extremely high BAC levels, with 13 recording above 300.
