I-78 E-ZPass lanes closed for weekend construction work

The E-ZPass express lanes on Interstate 78 in Williams Township will close this weekend for road work. The project was delayed due to bad weather. Starting Thursday night, lane closures will take place. A contractor will replace part of the pavement on the express lanes, which are located just west of the bridge over the Delaware River. The schedule for the closures is as follows: the westbound express lanes will close at 7 p.m. Thursday and reopen at 5 a.m. Friday for one lane. On Friday, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., the other lane will be open for daytime traffic. However, both lanes will close again from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for additional concrete work. Next weekend, a similar closure could happen from March 27-31, depending on the weather. The Delaware Joint Toll Bridge Commission noted that changes in the schedule could occur due to weather or emergencies.
