ICC issues arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant and Hamas commander over war crimes
The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. The court found "reasonable grounds" for criminal responsibility related to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Both Israel and Hamas have denied the allegations. The warrants will be enforced by the ICC's 124 member states, which do not include Israel or the United States. The case stems from the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel and subsequent Israeli military actions in Gaza.
