ICC issues arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant, and Hamas leader al Masri
The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former defense minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leader Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri. The warrants are linked to alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. The ICC's decision follows a May announcement by prosecutor Karim Khan regarding crimes related to the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel and subsequent military actions in Gaza. The court stated that Israel's acceptance of its jurisdiction was not necessary. Israel has rejected the ICC's authority and denied committing war crimes. The ongoing conflict has resulted in over 44,000 deaths in Gaza since October 7, 2023, according to Hamas's health ministry.
