ICC issues arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant and Hamas leader Deif
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Chief Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leader Mohammed Deif. This follows allegations of war crimes related to the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas and Israel's military response. The ICC stated that Israel's acceptance of its jurisdiction is not necessary for the warrants. Israel has rejected the court's authority and denies committing war crimes in Gaza. Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett criticized the ICC's actions, calling the warrants a "mark of shame" for the court.
