ICC issues arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant and Hamas leader Deif
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for crimes against humanity and war crimes. The warrants include allegations of starvation as a method of warfare. The ICC also issued a secret warrant for Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif. The court stated that Israel's acceptance of its jurisdiction is not necessary for the warrants to be valid. Israel's Foreign Ministry has challenged the ICC's jurisdiction, arguing that the court did not allow Israel to investigate the allegations. The warrants may complicate travel for Netanyahu and Gallant.
