ICE agent deployment could increase in New York
Tom Homan, the border czar, warned that New York could see an increase in ICE agents if Governor Kathy Hochul does not cooperate on immigration enforcement. He criticized sanctuary city policies and praised Mayor Eric Adams for his efforts. Homan stated that more agents would be deployed to areas with sanctuary policies, indicating a potential doubling of resources. He denied any involvement in a supposed deal regarding Adams' corruption case and confirmed plans to meet with Adams again soon. Homan's remarks were made during a rally by Republican lawmakers advocating for the repeal of the Green Light Law, which allows undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses, and support for legislation targeting sanctuary city policies.
