Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula volcano erupts for seventh time this year
A volcano on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula erupted late Wednesday, marking its seventh eruption since December. The eruption created a fissure about 3 kilometers long but is smaller than the one in August. While there is no threat to aviation, authorities have issued gas warnings for parts of the peninsula, including the town of Grindavik. The repeated eruptions have damaged infrastructure and forced some residents to relocate. However, officials state that this latest eruption does not pose a further threat to Grindavik.
