Iga Swiatek accepts one-month suspension after positive doping test

Iga Swiatek, the French Open champion, has accepted a one-month suspension after testing positive for trimetazidine, a banned heart medication. The International Tennis Integrity Agency announced this on Thursday. Swiatek tested positive in August during an out-of-competition drug test. The agency accepted her explanation that the result was unintentional, linked to contamination from a melatonin supplement she used for jet lag. The ITIA found her level of fault to be minimal. Swiatek, 23, is currently ranked No. 2 in the world and has won five Grand Slam titles.
