Illegal immigrant charged with murder in Georgia
A 21-year-old Honduran man, David Hector Rivas-Sagastume, has been charged with the murder of a Georgia grandmother, Camilla Williams. Williams, who was 52 years old and a mother of five, was found dead in a wooded area. Authorities believe Rivas-Sagastume attacked her randomly. The incident happened on March 12, 2025. According to police, Rivas-Sagastume placed Williams in a chokehold, causing her to lose consciousness. He then allegedly used his body weight to suffocate her. Williams' family had reported that she felt someone was following her before her death. Rivas-Sagastume was previously caught at the U.S.-Mexico border in March 2021. He was released into the country under the Trump administration and was facing a deportation order since July 2023. Despite this, he remained in the U.S. until his recent arrest by police in Cobb County, Georgia. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed his illegal entry and release. They noted that Rivas-Sagastume is currently being held without bond. The case has drawn attention because it echoes another murder in Georgia where a similar situation occurred with an illegal immigrant.
