Illegal land allocations in Bikaner will be cancelled

In a recent announcement, Colonisation Minister Hemant Meena stated that illegal land allocations in Bikaner's Kolayat and Bajju tehsils will be canceled. This decision comes after an investigation into land allocations made from 2021 to 2023. Meena explained that a committee led by Bikaner’s additional district collector will examine these cases. The committee was formed following an order issued on February 1. Once the committee submits its report, legal actions will be taken to revoke the illegal allocations. In response to a question from MLA Anshuman Singh Bhati, Meena presented official records showing that 69 cases of land were incorrectly allocated. These cases involved land that should have been reserved for special categories but were wrongly classified as general allocations. Between November 2020 and October 2023, a total of 312 land allocations were made in Bajju tehsil. Meena emphasized that corrective measures are underway. The colonisation commissioner or district collector can cancel these illegal allocations either through complaints or proactive measures. The 69 disputed cases will be reviewed according to legal procedures once the tehsildar submits them for hearing.
