Police in Sirsa district have arrested five people for running an illegal liquor distillery. The arrests took place in the Rupana Bishnoiyan area during a raid by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA). The police seized a large amount of liquor valued at around Rs 1.25 crore. This included English liquor and beer. The suspects were identified as Bansi Lal, Anoop, and Vikas from Rupana Bishnoiyan village, along with Arun and Ramshankar from Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh. The operation was initiated after the police received a tip-off. A team led by sub-inspector Prem Kumar raided a location on Shakkar Mandori Road. They intercepted a truck and a pickup vehicle that were loaded with the illegal liquor. During questioning, the suspects could not provide valid permits or licenses for the liquor. The police, with help from the excise department, seized the vehicles and conducted a thorough search. They discovered 1,638 boxes of liquor, which included both English liquor and beer. Investigators also found a machine for producing counterfeit liquor, labels, holograms, and empty bottles at the site. This indicated that fake liquor was being made there as well. The police are continuing their investigation into the operation.
