Iloilo funds first Madrasah for Muslim students
The Iloilo provincial government has allocated P6.4 million to build the first Madrasah in Western Visayas at Sara Central Elementary School. This facility will provide Islamic education tailored to Muslim students. The Madrasah Education Program will include a curriculum focused on Arabic language and Islamic values. The building will feature culturally appropriate architecture, including a prayer room for daily prayers. Additionally, P8 million has been set aside for a School of Living Traditions at Fernandez Perez Memorial High School. This facility will support indigenous culture and serve as an evacuation center during emergencies.
