Imagine Dragons praise UK's unique festival atmosphere
Imagine Dragons guitarist Wayne Sermon shared his excitement about UK festivals, calling them truly special. He described their performance at Glastonbury in 2014 as one of the highlights of their career. He noted that UK festivals have a different vibe, feeling more raw and authentic compared to those in the U.S. During their Glastonbury set, they played in heavy rain and mud, fully embracing the festival spirit. The band is set to release a concert film titled "Imagine Dragons: Live From The Hollywood Bowl," which will be shown in UK cinemas next week. They performed with a 50-person orchestra for this concert. Wayne mentioned that they felt prepared for the show and collaborated closely with composer Inon Zur. This summer, Imagine Dragons will return to the UK for concerts, including two nights at Tottenham Hotspur's stadium in London. Wayne said they plan to keep their set exciting by making some changes, while still delivering a familiar experience for their European fans. Wayne acknowledged the challenges of touring post-pandemic, noting the rising costs of fuel and logistics. He referred to the current touring climate as "brutal" but emphasized their commitment to perform for fans. He praised lead singer Dan Reynolds for his strong stage presence, whether he is performing shirtless or not. Wayne also highlighted Dan's talent for discovering new artists, like Benson Boone, whom they signed after he impressed them on "American Idol." Boone has since gained significant recognition in the music world. Imagine Dragons' movie will air in UK cinemas on March 26 and March 29. Tickets are available now.
