Immunization clinics for kids to boost vaccination rates

castanet.net

Central Okanagan families with young children are invited to vaccination events in 2025. These clinics will include activities like coloring contests and therapy dogs, while focusing on immunizing children aged four to six. Vaccination rates in Interior Health are lower than in other regions. As of 2023, only 65.7% of seven-year-olds were vaccinated for diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis, and 66.3% for measles. The first clinic is on March 25 at the West Kelowna Health Centre. Families can book appointments by calling 250-980-5150. Additional clinics will be held throughout the year.
