Imo lawyer arrested for shooting boy retrieving football
The Imo State Police have arrested a lawyer named Barrister Donald Mbamah, 64, in connection with the fatal shooting of a teenage boy. The incident occurred on March 17, when 19-year-old Victor Paul entered Mbamah's compound to retrieve a football. After the shooting, Victor was taken to a hospital in Umuguma, where he later died on March 20. The police responded quickly to a distress call from a neighbor who heard the gunshot. They apprehended Mbamah at the scene and transported Victor for medical help. The police confirmed that their investigation is ongoing. A spokesperson stated they are working to recover the firearm allegedly used in the shooting. They described the situation as tragic and extended condolences to Victor's family. The police also urged the public to allow law enforcement to handle the case and refrain from taking matters into their own hands. Once their investigation is complete, they plan to bring charges against Mbamah in court.
