Imran Khan confirms November 24 protest in Islamabad over detention issues
Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, confirmed that his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), will hold a protest in Islamabad on November 24. He stated that the government’s refusal to release him after his bail approval shows a lack of sincerity in negotiations. Khan rejected an offer to suspend the protest, as his demands for the release of detained party members were not met. He accused the authorities of trying to prolong his imprisonment and prevent the protest from happening. Barrister Saif, a PTI leader, stated that negotiations with the government are contingent on Khan's release. He criticized the government's heavy security measures and affirmed that PTI will proceed with the protest, which they expect to be larger than previous demonstrations.
