In an interview, Ali explained that he included the murder scene early to avoid suspense and allow viewers to concentrate on Chamkila's musical journey. The film, released on Netflix in April 2024, stars Diljit Dosanjh as Chamkila and Parineeti Chopra as his wife, Amarjot. It tells the true story of their lives and tragic deaths.
