India aims to lead in AI with 'AI for All'
Union Minister of State Jitin Prasada delivered a keynote speech at the Nasscom Global Confluence 2025, emphasizing India's commitment to artificial intelligence (AI) and its readiness to lead in the technology sector. He highlighted that India is the global leader in AI skill penetration, surpassing countries like the US and Germany. Prasada urged industry leaders to prioritize research and development (R&D). He stated that as nations modernize through digitalization, India is prepared to be a key technology partner. He stressed that India is open for business and has a wealth of skills to share with the world. He mentioned the government's efforts to ensure that future skills programs reach rural areas. This would help the workforce adapt to global technological changes. Prasada noted that India’s strength lies in its innovative and resilient nature. The Indian IT industry reported a revenue of $254 billion in fiscal year 2024, highlighting its importance on the global stage. Indian tech firms, active in over 80 countries, are known for their innovation, reliability, and excellence in delivering solutions to Fortune 500 companies. With his dual roles in commerce and IT, Prasada believes both sectors are poised for growth. He expressed confidence in India’s position to benefit from developments in these dynamic fields.
