India and Italy seek stronger military cooperation
India and Italy recently met in Rome to discuss ways to strengthen their military ties. The two-day meeting focused on improving their armed forces' collaboration and developing military capabilities. This follow-up meeting comes four months after the leaders of both countries announced a strategic action plan to enhance cooperation. The discussions took place during the 13th meeting of the India-Italy Military Cooperation Group. This group aims to foster stronger defense relations between the two nations. The talks included a review of current defense engagements and ways to make future interactions more effective. Key agenda items were enhancing exchange programs and developing military capabilities together. The meeting also looked at the situation in the Indo-Pacific region and identified new opportunities for cooperation. The meeting was co-chaired by representatives from both countries’ defense staff.
