India bans 67 organizations under anti-terrorism law
India's Ministry of Home Affairs has released an updated list of 67 organisations facing a ban under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. This includes 45 officially designated as terrorist groups and 22 classified as unlawful associations. The list features groups involved in militancy and violence, such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. The designation allows for strict legal actions, including asset freezes and arrests. The UAPA, India's main anti-terrorism law, enables the government to take action against these organisations. The list is regularly updated to address ongoing security threats from various militant and extremist groups.
