India calls for urgent Israel-Hamas ceasefire, says Jaishankar

India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, at the India-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) meeting in Riyadh on September 9, 2024, emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, which has resulted in approximately 40,000 deaths in Gaza since October 2023. Jaishankar reiterated India's support for a two-state solution and highlighted the significant economic ties with the GCC, valued at $184.46 billion in 2022-23.
