India commissions three new naval vessels to boost military capabilities
India has commissioned three new naval vessels: two warships and one submarine, all built in India. This marks the first time India has launched three warships simultaneously, highlighting its push for military self-sufficiency and modernization. The new vessels include the stealth frigate INS Nilgiri, the guided missile destroyer INS Surat, and the attack submarine INS Vaghsheer. These additions aim to enhance India's naval capabilities amid growing regional tensions with China and Pakistan. The commissioning reflects a faster production timeline, with the destroyer taking just 31 months to complete, compared to previous ships that took up to 50 months. India plans to build an additional 62 warships and submarines to further strengthen its naval forces.
