India explores Gross Domestic Behaviour alongside economic growth

indiatoday.in

India is on the path to becoming a major economic power. By 2030, the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to reach $7 trillion. However, there are concerns about the nation's moral values and social behaviors. To understand these issues, the India Today Group, along with data analytics firm How India Lives, conducted a unique survey. This survey covered 98 districts across 21 states and one Union territory. It asked 9,188 Indians questions about their character traits, such as decency, empathy, and integrity. This new measure is called Gross Domestic Behaviour (GDB). The survey aims to reveal how people's values compare to India's economic growth. As the economy grows, it is important to see if the social fabric is improving as well. The findings will help highlight areas where India can work on its civic conscience alongside economic development.
