India highlights global health leadership at drug regulatory conference
India's Union Minister JP Nadda emphasized the country's role as a global health leader at the 19th International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities. He highlighted India's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, noting its rapid vaccine production and healthcare expansion. Nadda stated that India supported over 150 countries during the pandemic, guided by the principle of "Vasudeva Kutumbakam," meaning "the world is one family." He mentioned that India is committed to enhancing global health through collaboration and innovation. The minister also reported advancements in India's regulatory framework, including the digitalization of over 95% of processes and the establishment of drug testing labs. He expressed hope that the conference would lead to actionable recommendations for improving regulatory capacities.
