India installs tallest Ravana effigy in Delhi ahead of Dussehra celebration

A 211-foot tall eco-friendly effigy of Ravana has been installed in Delhi's Dwarka Sector 10, claimed to be the tallest in India. It was built by 40 people over four months at a cost of Rs 30 lakhs. The effigy surpasses the height of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir replica and features iron construction, a velvet outfit, and a fibreglass crown. It has a foundation extending 10 feet underground. The effigy will be burned on Dussehra, October 12, 2024, symbolizing the eradication of societal sins. Invitations for the ceremony have been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders.
