India plans to reduce logistics costs significantly
India is working to lower logistics costs to improve its competitiveness in the global market. Nitin Gadkari, the Minister for Road Transport and Highways, announced this goal at the 32nd Convergence India & 10th Smart Cities India Expo in New Delhi. The aim is to reduce logistics costs from the current 14-16 percent to single digits, making India more competitive with countries like China and the US. The expo features the latest in technology, including 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Smart City solutions. It includes the inaugural AI Bharat Expo, focusing on how AI can benefit industries and retail. Additionally, there is a Startup Hub with over 250 startups presenting innovative solutions. This hub will also provide mentoring sessions and a Startup Pitch competition to connect startups with investors. Around 40 conference sessions are planned during the three-day event. Experts from various fields will discuss trends in India's digital transformation and urban development. Sanket Bhondve, from the Ministry of Electronics & IT, shared insights about India’s significant energy data capabilities, which can enhance grid efficiency.
