India sees political advantage in strengthening ties with Trump administration, says Jaishankar
India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that the country is well-positioned to strengthen ties with the incoming Trump administration. He described the situation as "much more advantageous" compared to other nations, emphasizing India's consistently positive relationship with Trump. Jaishankar highlighted the need for collaboration in emerging technologies, noting that the U.S. will require India's partnership. He also discussed ongoing negotiations for free trade agreements with the European Union and the United Kingdom, acknowledging the complexities involved. The minister underscored the importance of India's manufacturing sector and the government's efforts to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. He mentioned a review of the Free Trade Agreement with ASEAN to address challenges faced by these businesses.
