The iDEX award is part of a program that encourages innovation in the defence sector, launched in May 2021 by the Defence Innovation Organisation. This initiative seeks to reduce dependency on foreign technologies. VEER is designed for various military operations including patrolling and reconnaissance. Pravaig emphasizes that the vehicle is built in India and ensures the country has full control over its military technologies. The startup states that this vehicle marks a significant step for India's national security. The VEER vehicle has been tested in harsh terrains and boasts strong stealth capabilities.
