India to assist 41,000 refugees in Mizoram
The Indian government will provide humanitarian aid to refugees and internally displaced people in Mizoram, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This assistance will support over 41,000 individuals from Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Manipur. Shah met with leaders of the Young Mizo Association in Aizawl, where they discussed the need for aid and the lifting of the free movement regime along the Mizoram-Myanmar border. He invited a delegation to Delhi for further discussions. Additionally, Shah addressed the inclusion of the Mizo language in the Constitution and promised to consider pending applications. He also mentioned that improvements to Lengpui airport will begin within six months.
