India urges Netherlands to cease arms supply to Pakistan
India has urged the Netherlands to stop supplying arms and military technology to Pakistan. This request comes due to Pakistan's longstanding support for terrorism. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made this appeal during a meeting with his Dutch counterpart, Ruben Brekelmans. In their discussions, the two nations agreed to enhance cooperation in various fields, including defense and security. They also touched on areas such as maritime technology, artificial intelligence, and drone development. Singh emphasized that supplying Pakistan with military resources threatens security in South Asia. India has faced challenges from Pakistan-sponsored terrorism for many years, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh highlighted the importance of not arming Pakistan and reiterated India's stance to other nations. The Netherlands has previously provided military vessels to Pakistan, which raised concerns in India. Indian officials noted that Dutch companies have been involved in military projects with Pakistan, especially in naval technology. During the meeting, both countries also discussed expanding their collaboration in shipbuilding, space technology, and other defense sectors. Singh expressed enthusiasm about strengthening the defense relationship between India and the Netherlands.
