India urges Netherlands to halt arms supply to Pakistan
India has asked the Netherlands not to provide arms or advanced military technology to Pakistan. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh raised these concerns during a meeting with his Dutch counterpart, Ruben Brekelmans, in New Delhi. Singh highlighted that arming Pakistan poses risks to regional security and emphasized that countries friendly to India should not support those linked to terrorism. The Netherlands has supplied military equipment to Pakistan in the past, including second-hand minehunters and offshore patrol vessels. During their talks, Singh and Brekelmans also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between their countries in defense, security, and technology sectors. The two ministers explored potential collaborations in shipbuilding, space technology, and artificial intelligence. Singh expressed optimism about strengthening defense ties with the Netherlands and mentioned their discussions on cybersecurity and the Indo-Pacific region. Separately, Singh has raised concerns about a U.S.-based separatist group called Sikhs for Justice, which seeks the creation of Khalistan. He discussed the group's connections to Pakistan's intelligence agency with U.S. officials, urging that it be designated as a terrorist organization. Last year, Singh reaffirmed India’s commitment to countering terrorism, stating that the country would respond firmly to any threats, even those originating from Pakistan.
