Indian expat dies in Abu Dhabi car accident
An Indian expatriate died in a car accident in Abu Dhabi on Friday night. Sarath Sasidharan, 36, was on a stargazing trip to Al Quaa, known for its views of the Milky Way, with friends. The accident happened around 11 PM, before they reached their camping spot. Sarath's brother-in-law, Lijin Raj, shared details about the trip. Five friends were traveling together, but one friend, Devadas MV, could not join them. He described their close friendship, noting they have been friends for over ten years and all worked in health and safety roles. Sarath had been the only one who stayed in the same company throughout their careers. Witnesses reported that the car skidded and rolled over. Other campers rushed to help and called for an ambulance. Some friends were injured, while Sarath did not survive. The owner of the car is currently recovering in the hospital, but is stable. Sarath's family in Kerala has been informed of the situation and is devastated by the loss. He leaves behind two young daughters, ages seven and four. Lijin, who is also from India, expressed disbelief over the tragedy. Legal procedures for repatriating Sarath's body have been completed, and it is set to be flown back home on Monday night.
