Indian student flees US after visa revocation
Ranjani Srinivasan, an Indian PhD student at Columbia University, fled the U.S. after her student visa was revoked on March 5. She was accused of supporting violence and terrorism linked to Hamas. On March 7, immigration agents visited her home, prompting her to quickly book a flight to Canada. She left behind her cat and belongings. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security reported that Srinivasan used the new CBP Home app to self-deport on March 11. This app allows individuals to report their intent to leave the country.
