Indian student struggles to find job in London
An Indian student has opened up about her challenging job search in London. Aditi Kukreja, who has a master's degree in law, shared her struggles of facing constant rejections while looking for work. Despite applying for over 2,000 jobs, she found herself without any offers. Kukreja graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2024 and started her job hunt that same March. She noted that, despite her hard work and following the application process closely, she received only rejection letters. In an Instagram video, she expressed her frustration, saying, “Rejection after rejection.” Determined to succeed, Kukreja took a different approach. She printed her CV and handed it out at various restaurants and cafes. After sending out more than 100 applications in person, she still did not get any job offers. Kukreja even applied for a position at McDonald's, hoping to gain some managerial experience, but was rejected there as well. Feeling discouraged, she ultimately returned to her hometown in Raipur. Though it was a tough decision, Kukreja is trying to stay positive. She believes that failed attempts might lead her to better opportunities in the future. Her story resonated with many on Instagram, generating supportive comments from viewers who understood her journey. Additionally, the job market for international students in the UK is becoming more difficult. The government's immigration policies are changing, which may require foreign graduates to find graduate-level jobs to extend their stay in the country. This change could affect many students from countries like India seeking employment in the UK.
