Indian woman arrested for stealing perfume at Changi Airport

A 28-year-old Indian woman was arrested at Changi Airport in Singapore on March 15. She is suspected of stealing perfume from two different shops while in transit. Surveillance cameras showed her leaving a cosmetic store with two bottles of perfume without paying. Staff noticed the items were missing during a stock check. A security officer was alerted to the theft and stopped the woman before she could leave the airport. When approached, the woman showed one bottle of perfume. However, a search of her bag revealed three additional bottles. Investigations showed she had also taken two bottles from another store in the terminal. The total value of the stolen perfume is around $742. The woman will face charges in court on March 20. If convicted of theft, she could be sentenced to up to seven years in prison, fined, or both. The police emphasized their strict stance against shop theft and stated that offenders will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
