Indiana teacher's husband files for divorce over allegations
The husband of a former Indiana teacher accused of sexual abuse has filed for divorce. Brittany Fortinberry, 31, faces serious charges for allegedly abusing multiple junior high students. She is accused of luring the kids with alcohol and drugs before having sexual encounters with them. The husband, Nicholas Fortinberry, filed for divorce in February while police were starting their investigation. According to legal documents, he was aware of the troubling allegations against Brittany. One child's parent claimed that Nicholas threatened to harm a student if he spoke out about the incidents. This parent also reported that Nicholas confronted another student about the situation. Nicholas Fortinberry and Brittany were married on November 11, 2020. He listed February 21, 2025, as their separation date. The couple has a 4-year-old child, and Nicholas is seeking temporary custody of their child along with possession of their family home.
