Indiana's leading scorer Malik Reneau enters transfer portal
Indiana basketball is experiencing changes following the appointment of new head coach Darian DeVries. Malik Reneau, the team's leading scorer this season, has entered the transfer portal. He averaged 13.3 points per game and has played all three of his college seasons at Indiana. Reneau was recruited by former head coach Mike Woodson's staff. With only one year of eligibility left, his decision to transfer follows the coaching change. Earlier on the same day, Gabe Cupps, a former four-star guard, also entered the portal. Cupps played in only four games this season. Reneau originally had high expectations after coming from Montverde Academy in Florida. He started in just three games during his freshman year but had a strong sophomore season, averaging 15.4 points. Woodson had brought in several new players last offseason. The team looks to rebuild its roster ahead of the 2024 season. DeVries previously had success with transfers at West Virginia. He will need to adjust after losing players like Trey Galloway and Langdon Hatton, along with Reneau. Luke Goode, another player, is seeking a medical waiver to extend his eligibility after playing only ten games last season.
