India's badminton association criticizes exclusion from 2026 Commonwealth Games

Badminton, Shooting, and Hockey have been excluded from the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, disappointing many in India. India has won 31 medals in badminton, including 10 golds, and was set to defend titles in multiple events. The exclusion puts nearly 40 medals at risk, according to the association's secretary, Sanjay Mishra. The 2026 Commonwealth Games will feature a reduced program with only 10 sports, including Athletics, Swimming, and Boxing. This marks a significant change from previous editions, which included a wider range of events.
