Infant dies after overheating in parked minivan, NJ
An infant was tragically found in a parked minivan in Lakewood, New Jersey, on Tuesday afternoon. The four-month-old boy was discovered in "distress" inside the vehicle. First responders arrived quickly and attempted life-saving measures. The baby was taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer did not provide details on how the infant ended up in the vehicle or the cause of death. The identity of the child's parents or caretaker has also not been revealed. Experts warn that temperatures can rise quickly in parked cars. Even on a cool day, like Tuesday when temperatures reached 63 degrees, it can get dangerously hot in a vehicle left in direct sunlight. Officials are investigating the situation further.
