Injured servitor delays Puri temple darshan by two hours
A servitor at Jagannath Temple in Puri was injured on Saturday while carrying water for a ritual. The servitor, Krishnachandra Apat, slipped and fell, hurting his legs and hands. He was taken to a hospital in Puri but was later referred to a larger hospital in Bhubaneswar for better treatment. After the incident, bloodstains were found in the temple. To follow rituals, other servitors conducted a purification ceremony called ‘Maha Snana’. This ritual caused delays for visitors wishing to see the deities, as the temple was closed for two hours. Regular darshan and the ‘Gopala Ballabh’ ritual were both postponed during this time.
