Intel launches Core Ultra 9 285K but faces gaming performance challenge against AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Intel has launched its new flagship desktop CPU, the Core Ultra 9 285K, as part of the Arrow Lake-S series. It is designed to consume less power and generate less heat compared to previous models, but it may not outperform AMD's Ryzen 7 7800X3D in gaming. The Core Ultra 9 285K will be available starting October 24, 2024, priced at $589. In contrast, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, launched in April 2023, is currently priced around $430. The Ryzen chip is noted for its superior gaming performance due to its advanced cache technology. While the Core Ultra 9 285K features improved architecture and capabilities, it faces challenges in gaming performance against the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Intel has not yet released performance benchmarks for the new CPU, leaving its competitive standing uncertain.
