Interior minister claims secret leadership controls PTI amid Islamabad protests
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party is being controlled by a "secret leadership" amid ongoing protests in Islamabad. He noted that some PTI leaders are open to negotiations, while others are inciting violence. Naqvi visited D-Chowk to assess security measures as protests escalated. He accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of supplying tear gas to PTI protesters and confirmed that four security personnel were killed in recent clashes. The federal government has deployed the army in the capital under Article 245 to help restore order. A security lockdown is in effect, blocking PTI supporters from entering the city as they demand the release of their jailed leader, Imran Khan.
