iPhone 16e shows impressive durability in tests

The iPhone 16e, launched in February 2025, is gaining attention for its durability. Priced at ₹ 59,900, the phone has a minimalist design and offers solid performance, but some features, like the Dynamic Island, are missing. The phone recently underwent a durability test by the popular YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. The results indicate that the iPhone 16e is quite resilient. During the scratch test, it showed very light scratches at a level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale and slightly deeper ones at level 7. The Ceramic Shield glass was noted for its superior quality over standard tempered glass. However, the device's aluminum sides are prone to scratches from steel blades. Users may want to invest in a case to keep those sides looking good over time. The matte finish on the back, available in both white and black, does a better job of resisting scratches. In the bend test, the iPhone 16e performed well. It showed little to no flex and did not break or bend under pressure. This durability is a positive feature, especially given its more affordable price compared to other flagship phones.
