The first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction saw franchises spend Rs 467.95 crore on 72 players. Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history with a bid of Rs 27 crore from Lucknow Super Giants. Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer also fetched high prices, at Rs 26.75 crore and Rs 23.75 crore, respectively. Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh set records as the most expensive Indian spinner and pacer, both going for Rs 18 crore. After Day 1, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has the highest remaining purse at Rs 30.65 crore. Other teams have varying amounts left, with Sunrisers Hyderabad at the lowest with Rs 5.15 crore.
