The IPL 2025 auction began in Jeddah, with 84 players sold on the first day for a total of INR 457.25 crore. Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings each acquired eight players, while Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians signed three. Punjab Kings had the largest budget and spent INR 84.50 crore on their eight players. Lucknow Super Giants made headlines by signing Rishabh Pant for INR 27 crore. Other notable signings included Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer. Day 2 of the auction will feature 85 more players. The process will continue with a similar format, followed by an accelerated auction for unsold players.
