IPL 2025 mega auction kicks off in Jeddah with new rules and player options
The IPL 2025 mega auction starts today, November 24, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This is the second auction held outside India, following Dubai in 2024. A total of 574 players, including 48 capped Indians, will be auctioned over two days. Franchises can use the reintroduced Right-To-Match card to retain released players, but only if they haven't retained six players. The auction will begin with two marquee sets, followed by capped players and uncapped players, ending with an accelerated auction. The accelerated auction will start after the 116th player. Franchises will list their preferred players for this part, which will include those not sold or presented earlier. Only 70 international players can be signed due to squad limits.
