IPL 2025 players face extensive and taxing travel schedules

During the Champions Trophy, India played all of its matches in Dubai due to safety issues that prevented travel to Pakistan. This decision led to concerns among players regarding the logistical challenges of the tournament. India won the trophy while teams like South Africa faced tight travel schedules, having to fly back to Dubai shortly after their last group match. As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 begins, players will experience a similar travel grind. Each team will play 14 matches, with extensive travel to different venues across India. Royal Challengers Bangalore will have the longest travel distance at over 17,000 kilometers. In contrast, Delhi Capitals will cover about 9,270 kilometers. Players are preparing for the intense travel schedule. David Miller from South Africa expressed frustration over the exhausting travel during the Champions Trophy. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals player Abhishek Porel acknowledged the mental challenges of frequent travel but emphasized the importance of enjoying the process. Teammate Karun Nair shared a positive outlook, stating that all players understand the demands of professional cricket and are willing to put in the effort for their teams. The travel distances for other teams vary, with Sunrisers Hyderabad covering about 8,536 kilometers and Chennai Super Kings at 16,184 kilometers. Overall, the upcoming IPL promises excitement, but it will also challenge players with its rigorous travel demands.
