IPL auction 2025: Teams prepare for day two after Rishabh Pant's record deal

The IPL 2025 auction began with a record-breaking first day, where teams spent Rs 441 crore. Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history, sold for Rs 27 crore to Lucknow Super Giants. On the second day, teams will continue bidding to fill remaining roster spots. Notable players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Faf du Plessis are still available, with a total of Rs 173.55 crore left to spend across all franchises. A total of 84 players were auctioned on the first day, with 72 sold and 12 unsold. The auction is expected to conclude with more high-value deals as teams aim to strengthen their squads ahead of the IPL season starting in March.
